ISSLS actively encourages and supports young researchers and clinicians via its Fellowships and Awards Program. We are grateful for the generous corporate donations that allow young researchers to attend ISSLS Annual Meetings, where they present their papers and posters, meet like-minded clinicians and researchers and continue their valuable research into spine disease and disability. Their contributions to the ISSLS meetings prepare them for eventual membership of our close-knit family. The ISSLS Fellowship Program ensures that important research continues to be undertaken across clinical, bio-engineering and basic sciences. With continued support from pharmaceutical organisations, as well as the fledgling ISSLS fundraising campaign, we hope to continue to support young researchers in the years to come.

Please contact Fiona ([javascript protected email address]) to support these valuable programs or donate to the ISSLS Fundraising Campaign.

Young Investigator Travel Grant

Thanks to generous support from Eisai Co. Ltd, ISSLS offers travel grants of US$1,000 to young researchers and clinicians who submit an abstract as the first/presenting author for an Annual Meeting. The purpose of the grant is to assist with registration, travel and accommodation costs to help young scientists and clinicians attend ISSLS annual meetings.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the ISSLS Annual Meeting, planned for Milan in 2021, will now be held virtually. Therefore, there will be no travel or accommodation costs involved in attending the meeting. For this reason, the Young Investigator Travel Grant will not be awarded in 2021.
