ISSLS Annual Meetings
Since 1974, spine professionals from around the globe have met to exchange information relating to low-back pain and disability. Whether of an investigative or clinical nature, surgeons, neurosurgeons, biomechanical engineers, physiotherapists and others have come together annually over a five-day period between April and June, to discuss ideas and advance exploration and research into the lumbar spine.
More than 80 oral papers, 60 special posters and 250 general posters are presented at the meetings.
Highlights of the meeting include the presentation of the ISSLS Prize winning papers(link), the Presidential Address and Presidential Guest Speaker’s Address.
The ISSLS Annual Meetings are more than scientific gatherings. They are also acclaimed for their social program and atmosphere of companionship.
The meetings alternate between North America, Europe and Asia/Pacific. Every fourth year, it is combined with other societies at Spineweek.
The location of each meeting is decided by the ISSLS membership, who vote on a proposal put forward by an ISSLS member. Prospective local hosts, from the region or continent where the next meeting is due to be held, submit site proposals and vie for the honour of hosting the meeting.
You are welcome to attend our Annual Meetings. If you wish to submit an abstract, the deadline is ≈ November 15 (see meeting pages for exact information)
