In 2018, ISSLS launched a fundraising campaign to provide seed research funding and travel grants to research trainees, young investigators and researchers from around the world. ISSLS would especially like to encourage researchers from those parts of the world under-represented in ISSLS.

Inspired by the high calibre of applications in the 2018 inaugural ISSLS research grant competition, the Executive Committee in Banff established the ISSLS Finance Committee (now the Fundraising Committee).

Although ISSLS is grateful for support from industry, the Committee believes that it is important to raise money independently and avoid complete reliance on the corporate world, while supporting innovative research and young researchers.

This is especially true now, as funding for most of our awards and grants has ended. While the Fundraising Committee continues to work towards securing industry sponsorship, we also ask members to support the ISSLS fellowships program so it can continue into the future.

Donors will also be recognised on our Donor Acknowledgement Page (you may remain anonymous if you prefer).

We’ve undertaken extensive investigation into the possibility of offering tax exemptions to donors. However, as ISSLS is an international organization, there are many financial and organizational obstacles in our way. Therefore, we are unable to offer tax exemptions to donors from any country at this stage.
